BETHEL HOUSE CONSTITUTION
Preamble
Bethel House has a mission to disciple men, women and children to become like JESUS CHRIST. We aim to function through the help of the HOLY SPIRIT in all GOD has commissioned us to do. We believe that this should be felt in all the places we will find ourselves across the world. Our starting point for this mission is the city of Nottingham in the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
Our Vision
To be witnesses of GOD’S Kingdom so that we can live it out on earth.
Our Methods
- To establish a Church that follows the Apostles doctrine as described in the New Testament. This will provide the opportunity to disciple men, women and children who choose to live the lifestyle of GOD’s kingdom on earth.
- To multiply this reach and its potential through the current mediums available and innovative technology.
- To establish an Apostolic Christian School that will teach children, teenagers and adults how to live this life daily. From these Schools, we will aim to make disciples who will make other disciples. This will help children grow in the knowledge of GOD. It will help teenagers continue in the way of the Kingdom of GOD. As adults they will be ready to serve in GOD’s kingdom. For those who are already adults, should they need the School; it will provide a chance to create a new mindset in order to live like CHRIST.
Our Initiatives
These include:]
- An Apostolic Local Church
- Study of the Word and Prayer
- Married Couples Community(MCC)
- Bethel House School which will develop future Leaders in Ministry and Secular society
- Evangelism & Outreach to the Poor, Arts & Entertainment, Sports and Prisons
- Musical Worship Meetings
- Community & Governmental Engagement
- Strategic alliances with other Churches and Christian organisations as the HOLY SPIRIT leads
Using the Holy Bible as our blueprint and guide, we aim to be a collective of people who believe in worshipping JESUS CHRIST in Spirit and in truth. As such we see helping men, women, children, those in and not in families, as well as the homeless/those in need as our high call. We will also aim to bring social stability to a diverse number of people. Our desire is that individuals would come into an encounter with the living God which will transform their lives. We will champion a lifestyle of righteousness and holiness which is pleasing unto the LORD. That all will know the LORD and be conformed to his image. We will aim to make disciples who will see themselves as missionaries wherever they are.
Name
Section I: The name of this organisation shall be “Bethel House”
Purpose
Bethel House exists to glorify JESUS and make him known in the world. A community of Christians who are in pursuit of the goal to become like JESUS CHRIST. We will begin by meeting together regularly using in person meetings in homes, physical buildings and online. We understand that every person is uniquely created by GOD. Therefore we will prayerfully follow the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT in the way we disciple people.
Vision, Mission & Methods
Our Vision
To be witnesses of GOD’S Kingdom so that we can live it out on earth. To express GOD’s way of living as prescribed in the New Testament, but still holding to the values of the Old Testament. We believe by doing this we will be relevant for the times we live in. This is the reason we are led to use the operations of local church congregations. However we understand the value of smaller group meetings alongside this.
Our Mission
To help form a place wherein disciples of the Kingdom are consistently trained to make other disciples. From here they can change the world they live in for the better. A place where people see one another as family. Where they can live out the realites of GOD with love and compassion for one another.
Our Methods
With the use of diverse gifts that will be administered through the following;
Discipleship
Preaching
Teaching
All forms of media
Strategic alliances with other Ministries
Our Confession
That all will know the LORD and be conformed to his image.
Equal Opportunities
Bethel House will not discriminate on the grounds of gender, race, ethnic or national origin, sexuality, disability, religious or political beliefs, marital status or age and will offer anyone the ability to interact with us.
However as a Faith-based organization, we reserve the right to restrict leadership and positions of ministry service to those who subscribe to our faith and live in light of our beliefs and practices. Where an individual becomes divisive or a negative influence, the Elders reserve the right to remove them from leadership/service and in extreme cases excommunicate them from fellowship until such a time as they demonstrate true repentance.
Discipleship(Membership)
- There are 3 classes of membership: “The Disciples”, the “Leaders(Elders)” and the “Pastorate”.
- Discipleship of the Congregation/peoples shall be open to any person who chooses to. This will be also evident by their being born-again and regenerated by GOD and accepting Jesus Christ as their LORD and savior.
- The board of Elders will be by prayerful appointment by the Pastorate of Bethel House and affiliated designated Ministers of the gospel that are recognized by the wider church. This will include;
- The designated Resident Pastor(s) (spouses are encouraged to be co-labourers with each Pastor)
- Any other leaders within Bethel House and affiliated designated Ministers/Ministries.
- The Treasurer of Bethel House
- A minimum of 2 other leaders in Bethel House who will oversee a department or function within the church.
- Acceptance to the Pastorate is determined solely by the National Council of Elders of Kingdom Culture Movement (except in cases where the church was founded before admission into KCAC). The Pastorate of each local congregation includes all individuals within the congregation that have been ordained under the umbrella of Kingdom Culture Movement and/or have been assigned by the National Board of Regents to that particular congregation.
In all cases, the decision of the National Board of Regents is final and binding.
- Where it is determined by the Pastorate and the Board of Regents that the membership of an individual is detrimental to the Church or that their lifestyle is in contradiction to our beliefs and the Christian Faith, they may be withdrawn from the Board of Elders and in extreme circumstances (where they are deemed to be a negative, divisive or destructive influence on the rest of the Church) excluded from membership of the Congregation.
- Any member of the Church may resign his/her membership by providing the Pastorate with a verbal or written notice (there is no requirement for a notice period of any length) and under no circumstances will anyone be made to feel pressured or coerced to become or remain a member of the Church
- A members’ register may be maintained with basic information of each member and may be used to make reasonable contact with members. This information will never be sold (in any circumstances) or given to third parties without the express consent of the member.
ARTICLE VI: Local Congregations
Each local congregation will be allowed to function autonomously within the framework set out by Kingdom Culture Movement. Each congregation is seen as a unique expression of Heaven’s Kingdom suited particularly to its geographical and demographical environment. There will be no attempts at standardization across congregations except to the degree that is necessary to stay within the tenets of the Christian Faith and the precepts of the church.
Each local congregation will have a Lead Pastor who is ultimately responsible for the spiritual, organizational and administrative affairs of the congregation. The Pastor is free to build his own leadership team and work for the good of the Kingdom and to impact the community as led by God with support and where required guidance from the Board of Regents of Kingdom Culture Movement.
Lead Pastors are required to attend periodical Presbytery meetings and retreats in addition to other meetings as called reasonably by the National Board of Regents. Pastors are also required to be members of the (“Reformers Alliance Worldwide” hitherto referred to as “RAW”) and adhere to its stipulations for ministers particularly in the area of accountability and covering.
Each local congregation is authorized to manage its finances autonomously within the guidelines set out in the Bible and this constitution of Kingdom Culture Movement regarding tithing and giving to missions & the less fortunate. All congregations are required to give a tenth of all income as a tithe to the National Diocese of Kingdom Culture Movement. They are also required to set aside 100% of the remainder of tithes received from the congregation (and potentially a designated portion of all free-will offerings, collections and non-specific donations) for the purpose of remunerating the staff and full-time ministers of the local congregation.
Specific donations must be set aside for the purpose for which they were made and where they exceed what is required for that purpose, the excess must be transferred to the reserves of the congregation. Such designated reserves can only be spent on different purposes with the approval of the National Board of Regents.
All assets purchased with funds received from the congregation or from outside donations to the church must be purchased in the name of Kingdom Culture Movement (or whatever Charity/similar registered name is in effect) and controlled in trust for it. Transparent financial accountability is mandatory and fraud of any kind will be addressed with the utmost seriousness both spiritually and where necessary legally. Quarterly & Yearly financial reports are to be submitted to the Chief Financial Officer of the National Diocese for review.
Pastors will not be transferred or re-assigned without their express consent and agreement. In all matters of relocation, thorough prayer, fasting, dialogue and consultation will be exercised; giving the family life of the pastor equal or superior consideration to the perceived benefit to the Kingdom.
Each congregation is to submit to its Pastors and pastorate biblically and give them the honour and respect required by the Bible. The National Diocese will not interfere with the spiritual governance of the local congregation (or usurp the authority of its Pastors) except where there is a clear case of significant problems or situations that call into question the ability of the pastors to lead. Guidance and support will be offered and provided as required at all times to local leaders as they hold up the burden of the Lord in their regions.
All grievances with Resident pastors should be brought to the National Board of Regents and will be attended to with due investigation in consultation with the local pastorate. Under no circumstances will the Board of Regents violate the jurisdiction of local pastors except where due process reveals significant problems that call into question the ability of the local pastors to lead. In such cases, the preferred cause of action will be to work with the local pastors to resolve any issue biblically and only cases of gross misconduct spiritually or legally will result in the temporary or permanent discipline and/or exclusion of local pastors. In such cases, the decision of the National Board of Regents will be final.
ARTICLE X: Meetings
Section 1: Annual General Meeting
ss.1: An Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held within 12 months of the previous Annual General Meeting and will constitute members of the Church Presbytery.
